How Prop Firm Traders Should Use Sentiment Data
Social sentiment is a contrarian indicator, not a directional signal. When everyone agrees on a direction, the trade is crowded and reversals become more likely.
Extreme bearish sentiment (-70 or below): The crowd is panic-selling. Short-covering rallies are probable. Reduce short exposure and look for reversal setups.
Extreme bullish sentiment (+70 or above): The crowd is euphoric. The trade is overcrowded. Reduce long exposure and tighten stops.
Neutral sentiment (-20 to +20): No strong consensus. Use technical analysis and prop firm rules as your primary guide.
