Practical position limits by account size:

  • -$50,000: $1,000 daily loss limit = $10 safe risk per trade (1% of limit)
  • -$100,000: $2,000 daily loss limit = $20 safe risk per trade (1% of limit)
  • -$150,000: $3,000 daily loss limit = $30 safe risk per trade (1% of limit)

With a 20-pip stop on EUR/USD ($10/pip per standard lot), the safe lot sizes are:

  • -$50,000: 0.05 lots per trade
  • -$100,000: 0.10 lots per trade
  • -$150,000: 0.15 lots per trade

With trailing eod (floor moves up at end of day), reduce position size after profitable periods because your floor has risen closer to your current balance.
